We offer lessons to suit any rider of almost any age. We start children as young as 4 years old and adults of all ages. Whether you are an experienced and confident rider or you have never been on a horse and are a little nervous, our variety of lesson horses and experienced trainers can help you reach your goals.
You do not need to purchase anything special for your first riding lesson. We provide the horse, saddle, helmet, etc. All you need to do is wear long pants and a boot or athletic tennis shoe, and come ready to learn. After you have taken a few lessons and decide that riding is something you enjoy, a good pair of paddock boots are a must. These boots provide traction on the stirrup and ankle support to help you achieve a good riding position. We have a store on site and our staff can help you find a pair that is right for you.
Lessons are about an hour long. This time includes basic horse care (handling, brushing, hoof picking, etc.) tacking/untacking, and riding time. Riding time is anywhere from 30-50 minutes depending on rider skill level, age, and fitness level. As the rider progresses, riding time gets longer to suit the rider's needs.
By appointment only.
Visitors are always welcome to come watch a lesson or talk to us in person.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your lesson to fill out the student release form and start getting your horse ready. You can also print the form and bring it to your first lesson.
